Vote & Encourage others
Although it may seem obvious, one of the easiest but most important actions you can take to help your country is vote, and encourage your family and friends to do so as well! In order to preserve the integrity of our democracy and ensure the will of the people is carried out by our government, it is important to make your voice heard. Although the 2024 presidential election is over, there are still elections every year, and often change takes place at the local level. It is important to stay engaged and make your voice heard in every election. In 2017, the United States fell from the position of a full democracy to a flawed democracy as civil liberties, political participation, trust in the government, and government functioning decline. In 2023, the United States was still considered a flawed democracy and democracy is declining across the globe. Democracy only works as long as we the people participate and make our voices heard. We must ensure the strength of our democracy as a pillar of the free world so we can help others who are also fighting for democracy.
Sow Seeds of Unity also encourages involvement in local peaceful protest movements and economic boycotts. Here are a few protest and economic boycott movements Sow Seeds of Unity has collected: Women's March, Stand up for Science 2025, March for our Lives, and The People's Union USA Economic Blackout.
